1. Amber Palace

Amber palace is also known as Amer fort, it is located in Amer, which is around 11 kilometers from Jaipur. It was constructed by Raja Mansingh in the year 1592. It was later expanded by Raja Jai Singh IA fine specimen of Rajputana and Mughal architecture styles, Amer Fort is amongst the top forts in India and a major attraction in Jaipur. The main entrance faces east and there are three more entrances. There are four courtyards in Amber Palace. One of the courtyards has the Public Audience Hall, called the Diwan-i-Aam.

2. City Palace



City Palace was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II between 1729 and 1732 AD. Once you are in the Pink City, you will naturally be inclined to visit City Palace The major highlights of City Palace are its entrance gates or Pol that are richly decorated and are quite popular. The palace complex comprises of Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal. Now, Chandra Mahal has been converted into museum that houses exclusive handcrafted products and other products that depict the cultural heritage of the kingdom. Not only will you enjoy the architecture, you will be awe struck by the glorious view of Pink City. The palace is also open in the evening when it is well-lit for night viewing.

Tickets: A palace view would cost rs. 200/- for Indians, rs. 100/- for students (with IDs) and rs. 700/- for tourists. A museum visit would cost rs. 500/- for Indians and rs. 1000/- for foreigners.

Extras: You can book a golf cabby at rs. 150/- and a chariot ride (with family) at rs. 1000/- (the cost might change with time). Audio guide is available at rs. 200/-. You may also buy a composite ticket which is valid for 2 days and includes entry fees to many other attractions in Jaipur.

Opening Timings: Open all days from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 10 p.m. for night viewing

3. Hawa Mahal


 Hawa Mahal is a not-to-miss tourist places in Jaipur. An iconic monument that is often used for representing Jaipur City. The Mahal was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. True to the name it earned as the ‘Palace of the Winds’, Hawa Mahal has 953 windows to provide ventilation.  it is a five-storey building that was constructed for the women of the royal family to see the everyday happenings in the city without being seen themselves due to the prevalence of the Purdah system. The five-storey building does not have steps to reach upper floors. Slopes connect the storeys.

4. Jal Mahal


Jal Mahal is an absolute visual treat. Situated in the middle of Mansagar Lake. It was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 18th century, as a hunting lodge and summer retreat.  Jal Mahal is also flocked by many seasonal birds since it is situated amidst the lake, and is therefore a great place for birdwatching, especially in the winters. Jal Mahal is a popular tourist attraction in Jaipur and is also amongst the most photographed sites in the city. It’s beautifully decorated hallways and the fragrant Chameli Bagh would are enough to impress any visitor.

5. Birla Temple


The Birla Temple, originally knows as Lakshmi Narayan TempleSituated at the base of Moti Dungri in south Jaipur, the Birla Temple is popular for its exquisite carvings done on white marbles, and is thus widely acclaimed as a marble marvel. The inner walls depict various events associated with Hinduism and the outer walls also have cravings of philosophers, thinkers and religious leaders namely- Socrates, Zarathustra, Christ, Buddha, and Confucius. The main attractions of Birla Temple are the images of Laxmi and Narayan, carved from one piece of marble.
